How Does Grubhub’s Supplemental Delivery work?

Self-delivery restaurants listed on Grubhub Marketplace can now tap into Supplemental Delivery to expand their delivery boundary by as much as four miles. 

Orders placed on Grubhub within the restaurant’s existing delivery boundary will continue to be delivered by the restaurant’s own delivery drivers.

Orders placed on Grubhub within the newly expanded boundary are sent to a restaurant’s Grubhub tablet–just like their self-delivery Grubhub orders. However, these orders are clearly marked as being for pickup and delivery by a Grubhub Driver. 

“Supplemental Delivery actually builds on what you have, and it creates a ring outside of your delivery zone,” Explained Kevin Kearns during the 2021 Food On Demand Conference, “In the first month, we provided 200,000 incremental orders to the restaurants that had signed up.”
