• What is Grubhub Direct?

  Grubhub Direct allows you to build a commission-free branded online ordering site so diners can order directly from your restaurant. It gives you control over the diner experience and access to your diner data.

• How do I design and build my Grubhub Direct restaurant website?

  After you sign up for Grubhub Direct, we will automatically add your menu, photos and location information from Grubhub Marketplace to your branded site. From there, you can use our site styler to choose the colors, fonts and images that fit your brand, and your site can be up and running in minutes.

• Can I access my customer data with Grubhub Direct?

  Yes. This is a key benefit of Grubhub Direct. You automatically get access to all of your site performance and guest data, including order history, lifetime spend and more. You can even download all customer data to use in your own marketing or activate the data directly within the campaign tools available via your Grubhub Direct dashboard.

• When will I get paid for my Grubhub Direct orders?

  You will be paid daily for your Grubhub Direct orders, but those payments will be paid separately from your Marketplace orders. You can access Grubhub Direct financial reports in the Financials tab of your Grubhub Direct dashboard. You must be on direct deposit for Grubhub Direct.

• Can I get professional designer help with Grubhub Direct?

  For restaurants that are looking for enhanced design and branding opportunities along with more robust campaign capabilities, there is an enhanced version of Grubhub Direct that is available for an additional cost.

• Can I use some of the loyalty, payment or other services from Grubhub Direct in my own site or mobile app?

  The Grubhub Direct application programming interface (API) simplifies creating apps and websites for your restaurant chain or franchise, especially if you want to incorporate online ordering, account management, loyalty and rewards programs, delivery as a service or in-store payments. Rather than having to build a complex technology infrastructure yourself to incorporate those capabilities into your app or website, you can simply leverage any of those capabilities that you want from within our existing Grubhub technology platform via our API.

• Will the Grubhub Direct API work with my technology stack?

  We’ve designed our API technology to be versatile and customizable to support some of  the most demanding restaurant technology requirements. Some of the largest restaurant brands with complex technology stacks already take advantage of our API solutions. See our developer resources here.

• What types of restaurants are best suited to take advantage of the API?

  Any restaurant can choose to use the Grubhub Direct API. However, you need to have your own development and design resources to build or enhance your restaurant app or website in order to take full advantage of the API.
